Tasting Notes
Appearance
Pale straw to golden, brilliantly clear, high carbonation with a thin bright white head. Looks clean and inviting in the glass — the kind of beer that disappears quickly on a warm Paso Robles afternoon.
Aroma
Subtle and clean. Cascade and Centennial at 9 IBU whisper rather than shout — a delicate floral note, a faint lemon-citrus quality, and clean lager grain underneath. Nothing demanding, nothing aggressive. This is a beer that smells like refreshment.
Palate
Light-bodied, crisp, and impeccably clean. The malt character is neutral and smooth — no caramel, no toast, just clean cereal grain that gets out of the way. The Cascade and Centennial hop character is barely there but purposeful — a faint citrus brightness mid-palate that lifts the beer and keeps it from feeling flat or anonymous. At 9 IBU you're not tasting bitterness so much as balance.
Finish
Short, dry, and immaculately clean. The citrus accent from Cascade and Centennial flickers briefly on the finish before disappearing completely. Zero lingering sweetness, zero harshness — just a clean slate that makes the next sip automatic.
The Verdict
The purest expression of drinkability in the Cal Coast lineup. This is the beer you hand someone who says they don't drink craft beer — approachable, clean, and quietly better than anything they're used to reaching for. Four percent, 9 IBU, and absolutely no reason to stop at one.
