2 / 4 A solid effort
Appearance Classic hazy IPA look — golden-orange, opaque, almost glowing in the glass, with a soft, creamy off-white head that hangs around.
Aroma Big juice bomb on the nose. Citra-driven orange and tangerine up front, Mosaic filling in with mango, berry, and a faint herbal note, and a whisper of Simcoe pine sitting in the background to keep it from feeling purely candy-sweet.
Palate Soft, smooth mouthfeel typical of the style — a little pillowy, not as crisp as Cal Coast's West Coast-leaning IPAs. The fruit carries all the way through: orange, tropical fruit, light stonefruit. At 26 IBU it's got more bittering presence than the Juicy IPA, giving it a touch more structure underneath the juiciness.
Finish Medium length, lightly bitter at the back end with the citrus lingering rather than the resin — the Simcoe shows up more here than anywhere else in the glass. Not overly sweet, which keeps it drinkable at 6.5%.

If the Mountain IPA is Cal Coast's hybrid coastal IPA and the Juicy IPA is their low-bitterness fruit showcase, the Hazy IPA is the one that actually delivers the classic "hazy" experience — full juice, soft body, just enough bitterness to remind you it's still an IPA.
